Hello! I’m Jann
I have dealt with a variety of adversities throughout my life which made me interested in studying Psychology and the human condition. This history helps me understand and connect with my clients at a deeper level and have molded me to be more compassionate and effective as a mental health counselor. The tools and techniques in the Being Zone System and my hypnotherapy training have been essential in helping me and my clients heal from our own Adverse Childhood Experiences (ACEs) and to find our own inner strength and wisdom.
I am a Licensed Mental Health Counselor and a Certified Clinical Hypnotherapist and have had a private practice in Everett, WA for many years. I have a Bachelors in Psychology from the University of Washington, a Masters in Psychology from Antioch University, Seattle, and Hypnotherapy certifications from Edmonds Hypnotherapy and Mary Lee Labay Ph.D.
I worked for many years in the homeless sector of Seattle, WA as a Mental Health Outreach Worker, visiting shelters to provide mental health counseling services to homeless women and their families.
During this time, I became keenly aware of the impact of trauma and ACEs, as every client has a story of adversity that led to a multitude of chronic homelessness, mental health, domestic violence, chemical dependency, self-sabotage, destructive behaviors, relationship dysfunction and/or other debilitating issues.
My empathic and compassionate nature has led my clients to trust the process of healing and I began to use hypnotherapy as a tool for trauma recovery. Working with trauma requires patience and understanding, as the unveiling of the layers of traumatic events requires time for healing. In providing solid and sustainable healing modalities for my clients, I fulfill my purpose of supporting others by helping them elevate their lives to be healthy and for them to be able to live from a place of purpose just as I have learned to do.
